Carl Dobbins is a native Nashvillian who attended Tennessee State University. Carl’s musical experience includes a three year stint as bassist for gospel recording artist Bobby Jones as well as brief stints with country music artist Ronny McDowell and R&B artist Rufus Thomas. Currently, Carl occasionally performs with a jazz quartet in and around the Nashville area.

Over the past few years, Carl has taught music and performed in Peru and Guatemala. He is known for his solid performance ability and versatility. Lessons with Carl cover the following topics: Elements of Theory (Basic scales, chords, key signatures, etc...), reading Music (Standard notation, tablature, chord charts and number charts), playing different styles of music and various bass techniques (Slapping and popping, finger picking, tapping, etc...)
